The Book
When our children were growing up, Levar Burton was faithful to foster a love of reading for them.
From 1983 to 2006, Reading Rainbow had a beloved theme song, its words often sang from the voice of children loudly.
We decided to borrow Mr Levar’s words. Since he taught us all to love books ~ and there is no greater Book than the Holy Bible ~ we knew he would be ok with it.
We understand the signs of the times and season we are in. God did not leave us flailing blindly around in the dark, looking for a way out. He gave very specific and detailed instructions for the end times.
In no particular order, and only as God leads, let’s look a little deeper in our Bibles to be sure we are prepared for the late hour we are in. We are digging too. We don’t want to miss anything.
THE BOOK OF JUDE
Jude was inspired by God and written by Y’hudah, or Jude. There is an urgency in the letter, as he found it “necessary to write.” In its words, we find very important warnings and instructions for us today.
The Book of Jude gives a warning about the dangers of being deceived by FALSE TEACHERS.
The Book is a letter written to the CALLED and CHOSEN ones. (verse 1)
"During the last days, there will be scoffers following their own godless passions." ~ Jude 1:18
Jude's letter gives us instructions to "BUILD UP, PRAY, KEEP, and WAIT" during the last days.
Jude's letter tells us what to watch for in certain people and why.
Jude reminds believers there is HOPE, even in the last days. GOD is able to keep us from falling.
Jesus, our Teacher, help us to understand and discern every description and warning about false teachers in the Book of Jude. May we find HOPE in Jude's letter to endure this late hour, fully trusting YOU to deliver us. May we always remember to give You the honor and glory You deserve.

THE BOOK OF JAMES
The Book of James is a letter encouraging believers to live by FAITH. During times of trial and testing, he urges us to keep our trust in God to persevere. James teaches us to be fearless and bold, living out our lives for Christ in relentless passion. What an important reminder for us today!
James gives clear warning about the dangers of being selfish or jealous. As we are seeing this more often today, let us gain wisdom from James' words to live honorable lives free from such things.
James instructs us to ask for WISDOM ~ a gift we all need just to survive today's mad world.
James teaches us the importance of waiting on God during the hard seasons. His answers will surely come!
James teaches us, though there are trials, God rewards our faithfulness to endure. That is a PROMISE to keep in our vision!
James teaches us to not only be HEARERS of the Word ~ but DOERS.
Jesus, our Teacher, show us what to do ~
Holy Spirit, teach us what true FAITH is. Help us as we try to navigate this wicked world. Give us WISDOM to live a life of integrity. Teach us to DO what Your Word says. Help us, oh God, as we endure hardships. Teach us what it truly means to PERSEVERE. Remind us through the martyrdom of James that we are called to lay down our lives for Jesus. Amen.
THE BOOK OF GENESIS
Genesis is the first book in the Bible, setting the stage for every book after. Its name comes from a Greek word which means “BEGINNING.” Genesis is the first book in the Torah {Law}. We find many important details in this book ~ God’s story of creation, the fall of man, the spread of sin, and the judgement of the flood of Noah’s day. This book also details the call, blessing, and preservation of the nation and people called Israel. Here, we see God establish the Sabbath Day. Most importantly, we see the first prophecy of Jesus Christ, the Seed who defeats that old snake.
God created in perfect order by His own voice ~ until He formed His Prized Creation with His own hands. He breathed His breath into the nostrils of the first Man and he came alive!
On the 7th day, God created our Sabbath Day when He rested from all His work.
God's Creation sinned against Him resulting in the fall of man. Adam and Eve were sent out of the Garden. God's punishment was strict ~ but His grace also began here.
When the first couple sinned, it is important to understand why God called out to the Man, instead of his wife.
God entrusted Adam with dominion. He was not just living in Paradise ~ he was commissioned. Adam surrendered his authority allowing deception to enter where discernment should have stood guard.
Yet, even in this moment of judgement, a promise was given! Genesis 3:15 prophecies The Seed, Jesus Christ, and the ultimate defeat of that old snake, Satan.
After the fall, sin increased throughout the earth. God would send His judgement through a great flood. Noah found GRACE in the eyes of the Lord. Genesis 6:8.
Noah was faithful to build the ark that would save his Family. Sadly, the world around him mocked, ridiculed, and rejected God's message.
God destroyed the whole earth because of the sin of man. Only Noah and his family were saved. After 370 days inside the ark, the floodwaters were dried up and Noah could come out.
When Genesis records the details of Noah's ark, it is so much more than a Bible story. It all points to Jesus!

Genesis contains the story of Abraham, Chosen by God and faithful to his calling.
Because of Abraham's obedience, God established His covenant. He promised to make him blessed and His Israel a Great Nation.
