Prepare
to
Survive

If we read and believe the Bible, we know the world is spiraling towards chaos. God gave us warning in the Old Testament writers through Prophecy. Jesus gave us warning while He walked the Earth. Anyone can look at the news or the world around us today, and see these things coming to pass. During a time of peace, is the time to prepare for the prophesied destruction.

“Don’t get overwhelmed!” Start where you are. Not everyone is in the same circumstance. With that being said, do what you can to prepare.  Those who have lived through the Great Depression have great wisdom to be gleaned from. What do you have on hand?  There are many things that have multiple uses. Old worn out/damaged tires can be used to repair the bottoms of shoes/boots, and used to fuel a fire. One extra bag of dried beans in a month is a good start. Thrift stores give away books that can be repurposed for toilet paper in an emergency or to start a fire.  Remember to gather wood as needed.

If storing drinking water for longer than 6 months in a sealed container, it is a good idea to check it periodically.  Bacteria, algae, or other pathogens, can grow in your water, making it hazardous to drink or bathe in. Contaminated water can cause serious health risks; such as gastrointestinal illness, skin irritation, rashes, ear infections, and even more serious diseases.  Check stored water for a cloudy or murky appearance or green algae which can be a sign of growing bacteria or other pollutants.  Also, look for anything floating in the water, which usually indicates bacteria growth. Whenever water is first opened, check the smell of the water. If the water appears clear, but has a strange smell, boil the water before using it.

Collect batteries for radios, flashlights, LED lights, cooling fans, communication devices, etc… If possible collect/build an alternative power supply that will enable you to live off the grid for a minimum of 6 months. The power grids in this country are a weak link, and vulnerable to cyber/physical attacks. This could lead to long term power outages, and drastically affect food storage.

End of Days

The world is changing quickly and global financial systems are creating their own currencies. The US is quickly losing it’s position as the foundational currency for the entire world. An economic collapse could be imminent for the US. A bartering system could eventually take the place of money. Salt and Sugar have traditionally been items that have been used for everything from medicine, to curing meat, to flavoring food. These items would be excellent to have on hand during these times.

Medical supplies to have on hand:

Pain Relievers, Antacids, Allergy meds, Nausea meds, Anti-Diarrhea, Cough and Cold meds, Laxatives, Sleep Aids, Saline Spray, Mineral Oil, Epsom’s Salts, Antibacterial cream, Calamine Lotion, Alcohol, Hydrogen Peroxide, Witch Hazel, Contact Lens Solution, Aloe Vera, Pedialyte, Petroleum Jelly, Vitamins, Thermometer.

DON’T FORGET ANY PRESCRIPTION MEDICATION.

Band-Aid’s, Adhesive Tape, Elastic wrap, Sterile Bandages/assorted sizes, Rubber Tourniquet, 16 French Catheter, Rubber Gloves, Gauze, plastic bagsSuper Glue, Instant Cold Packs, Hot Hands warming packs, safety pins, needles, thread, scissors, tweezers.

In an emergency, a turkey injector can be used to make an IV.

N95 Facial Masks or gas masks block most airborne particles.

Duct Tape (for everything else).

Make sure that you have what you need to start a fire to cook with and keep you warm. It would be a good idea to even research and practice starting a fire with no matches or lighter in case you were to lose everything.

Concentrate more efforts in getting The Word of God hidden down in your heart. If possible, store an extra Bible with your emergency food storage supplies. (Bibles are usually free at Thrift Stores)

Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spoke unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:  20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
